Artist Statement

As a life long creative, I have been working almost exclusively with copper sheets for over 20 years. This beautiful, malleable metal has been my medium of choice since it was first introduced to me in high school art class. I continued to get to know the copper medium in Art College and after graduation when I started exhibiting and sharing my work, I fell in love with it even further as it was so well received. People were intrigued by the medium and the technique of copper tooling. They wanted to hear about the process, its history and the story behind the nature inspired pieces that they were so drawn to. I have poured myself into this medium, further exploring it with the addition of acrylic, oil pastel, alcohol ink and resin to incorporate colours and layers. My work is in public and private collections around the world. It is in me to give and to share, I strive to be prolific, creating as often as I can, to further push my practice and the copper medium to see what it will reveal to me in the future. Last year alone I created 70 plus pieces in this labour intensive medium, with 5 galleries carrying my work I hope to further expand the reach of my studio and my copper artwork.
