William Duma was born in Calgary, Alberta, in 1936. He completed four years at the
Alberta College of Arts in ‘62, receiving an “Honors Diploma” in Fine Arts. Between ‘62
and ‘63 he traveled and studied in Europe. Duma is a member of the Alberta Society of
Artists and was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 1995.
Since leaving school, William Duma has participated in many one man and group shows
throughout Canada and abroad,. He is represented in major corporate and private
collections in Canada, the U.S.A. and Europe. He has won several art awards, including
the A.C.A.D Founders Award of Excellence from The Alberta College of Art and
Design in 2002 and the Medal winner and Purchase Award at the Italian International Show.
